my hope is that women who have been unheard and minorities who have been unseen feel empowered to celebrate their unique identity
Hello! A little bit about me: My name is Hang Black. My family escaped from war-torn Vietnam to arrive as refugees in America. After growing up in the Cajun South, I eventually found my way to northern California, where I enjoy exploring new adventures with my trusted circle at home, while serving as the VP of Global Revenue Enablement at Juniper Networks at work.
With a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, I began my career at Advanced Micro Devices, earning multiple patents in semiconductor manufacturing. From there, I transitioned to Cisco Systems–adding product management, marketing, and sales to my skill set. I left Cisco to start my own company, at which time, I was nicknamed “Black Ops” for my cutting-edge solutions in field marketing, revenue operations, and sales enablement. I have since led worldwide organizations at cybersecurity company, Gigamon, and unified communications provider, 8×8.
A multi-national keynote speaker on sales, leadership, and a passionate advocate for women in the workplace, my bestselling book, Embrace Your Edge, about how underrepresented groups without access can pave their own path to success, was released January 2021. My story interleaves personal and professional experiences with explanations from neuroscience, and I hope the lessons I’ve learned and crafted into tools for triumph will motivate others—not only in the workplace, but in life.
